Apple Cranberry Pie

Pie Filling Ingredients

8 small apples, diced and peeled and kept to the side soaking in lemon water

¼ cup dried cranberries

¼ cup sugar

¼ cups brown sugar

¼ teaspoon fresh minced ginger

¼ cup flour

1 teaspoon vanilla

¼  teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon cloves

¼ teaspoon salt

1. Toss together the apples and cranberries by hand.

2. Add in sugar, brown sugar, ginger, flour, vanilla, spices, and salt.

3. Pour filling into pie shell. Set aside.

Pie Topping Ingredients

½ cup cold butter

1 cup brown sugar

½ cup oatmeal

½ cup flour

¼ cup chopped pecans

¼ teaspoon salt

1. Mash together, with your hands or a fork until mixture is crumbly.

2. Sprinkle on top of filling to cover.

3. Bake for 45 minutes at 375 until top is gold brown.

4. Serve with a dollop of hand whipped cream.
